Funkcase I would personally also place it in the best RPG category. It won't win, but I'm baffled sea of stars is there but Octopath 2 is not. Oh well, I rarely agree with game awards.

Bartman326 You can't expect random game journalists to pour through soundtracks trying to objectively pick the best one. It's a bad category but not much ways of doing it better.

TaxAccountant123456 It seems like everybody forgot about OT2 - being released back in February probably didn't help it much. OT2 is objectively a better game than Sea of Stars, but I'm sure Sea of Stars got more nominations simply because it got more mainstream buzz and recency bias.

well____duh Released way too early in the year. Notice most games up to be nominated were released June or after, anything before has had too much time passed and folks just forget. Zelda being a huge exception

ChrisRR Starfield is just so disappointing. It's not a bad game, but without the open world it just feels like a series of FPS sections.

KuchiKopicetic Hell yes RE4 with the nomination. That game kicked so much ass, completely deserved. As for what wins, it’s clearly gonna be Zelda or Baldur’s Gate. I’m still making my way through both, both are phenomenal, totally happy with either one.

MistakeMaker1234 I think it’s disingenuous to compare TOTK to RE4 in terms of remaking/reusing. Resident Evil 4 - as fantastic as it is - is a straight up remake. TOTK is not. About 40% of the environments are reused, but that’s about it.
